My brave alpine plants are rising up again after the shock of winter snow in late March. I wonder how the wriggling worms are faring in the watery soil round their cold roots.
Spring is here and the snow water flowing through the rockery brings to life the first signs of Spring. Miniature daffodils turn towards the warm sun and mimic yellow for yellow. I feel happy to see they have survived the long cold and are ready to celebrate another year in the mountains.
My Plot in the City
A jungle of things to see and be discovered...this is a new garden for me and so I tread carefully and try to keep the ivy at bay. Under the soil is a gravel water bed from the water meadows near by and so those that like wet feet are happy and those that don't can be grown on the ancient flint wall. This has to be a scented garden and a vertical one so clematis can climb amongst the wind in the leaves.
